ABOUT THE REPAIR PROCESS

Can you match the paint color of my car?

Today's modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints.  Stinnett Collision has made a major investment in the finest paint system available and constantly upgrades its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the restoration process.

How long will the repairs to my vehicle take?

Repair times vary from vehicle to vehicle. Generally, a preliminary estimate is written before your vehicle arrives at the shop. Upon drop-off, vehicles are put through our disassembly process.  The first step to every repair at Stinnett Collision is the pre-repair diagnostic scan.. We (and most OEMs) believe that it is imperative to scan vehicles before and after every repair to ensure that all of the advanced safety features of the modern vehicle are working. After the scan is completed, the vehicle will have a complete disassembly of the damaged area and necessary surrounding areas for access. The technician and the estimator will then work together to create a repair plan and submit any additional damage found to the insurance company. After approval, we submit one parts order for all parts needed on the repair.  After this step, the estimator will call the customer and give an update on any additional damage that was found and give them a time frame on when they can expect to get their vehicle back. Once all crucial parts arrive, the body work is performed, painting begins, followed by reassembly, post-repair diagnostic scan to re-calibrate/relearn any systems that are required, and then a road test to ensure that all features are working properly i.e. lane departure, blind spot sonars, adaptive cruise control etc. Finally, the vehicle is cleaned and detailed in-house before it is returned to its owner.

How can I get a rental car?

If you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant. Check your policy and/or call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your specific limitations are. If you determine that you would like a rental car and/or your insurance company covers it, we will make those reservations for you and have the rental ready for you when you drop off your vehicle.

How will I know my car is ready to be picked up?

You will be notified by phone when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. Feel free to call or e-mail your adviser during the repair process if you have questions or concerns.

Do I need more than one repair estimate?

You are not required by law to get more than one estimate.

ABOUT INSURANCE CLAIMS

Where do I get a claim number?

Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just bring it in with you when you come in to begin the repair process.

Do I have to pay a deductible?

The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you carry broad collision, and you were not at fault, your insurance company most likely will waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault by your account of the accident when you make the claim, and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department. If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and the agent can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether you will be responsible to pay this when you pick up your vehicle.

Where do I pay my deductible?

If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay Stinnett Collision when you pick up your vehicle. If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and your agent can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether it will be your responsibility.
